Parents,

Please read everything below, as this is probably the most important email I will send this season.

With the winter weather approaching this weekend, the county meet has now been moved to THIS FRIDAY, January 23^rd. Due to this being a GHSA sanctioned meet, it is our understanding that your athlete will be excused for the day. The only big change(other than the day) is that senior celebration will take place in the evening, so that parents that may work during the day can come celebrate their seniors.

Transportation- THIS IS TENTATIVE – EXPECT ANOTHER EMAIL ABOUT THIS TOMORROW OR THURSDAY

• -As of right now, we are planning on having a bus take athletes from Denmark High School to Cumming Aquatic Center on Friday morning. These times are tentative pending on if we start earlier or later on Friday, but please plan on having your athletes at Denmark High School by 7am.
• -There will NOT be a bus taking athletes back to Denmark at the conclusion of the meet. Ideally, we would like the entire team to stay and cheer on their teammates, but due to the winter storm cell, we will allow athletes to leave at the conclusion of prelims on Friday.
• -If your athlete can drive themselves and you are fine with them driving themselves, then they are allowed to get themselves to CAC. If your athlete does not drive, and/or you planned on picking them up from DHS or the meet at its conclusion, please have them get on the bus on Friday morning.
• If for some reason you are concerned about getting your athlete to the appropriate place on time, do not hesitate to reach out so that we can coordinate. We do not want an athlete to miss out on swimming simply due to transportation.

Snacks/Food for Athletes

• -If you have signed up to bring a non-perishable item, please bring it to Coach Allie at practice on Thursday. If you have signed up to bring a perishable item(nugget tray, sandwich rings) and are unable to bring it on Friday, please let us know ASAP so that we are able to coordinate

County Meet Specifics

• -Top 20 individuals will make it back to finals, as well as A relays. If your child qualifies in the top 20, they are expected to swim at finals in the evening, no excuses.
• -Your athlete will stay for the entirety of prelims. If they make finals, we are expecting them to stay at Cumming Aquatic Center for the entirety of the day
• -Please expect an email later this week with a Heat Sheet and more accurate timeline for prelims

Volunteers

• -Each school is being asked to provide 6 timers (3 for prelims 3 for finals) – even if you have signed up on our website, please use this form to sign up - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050D48ACAD2AA75-61595819-county#/

Senior Recognition

• -Seniors will be recognize with their teammates and the rest of seniors in Forsyth County. Due to us still figuring out some logistical aspects, please expect an email from me later this week. If you are a senior parent and have not already, please send your pictures to Danielle Gordon that she asked for!

Timeline

9:15am- Swimming Preliminaries – TBD on approximate end time
2:00pm- Dive Warm-ups
3:15 pm- Dive Competition starts.
3:45 pm-5:15 pm- Finals Swim Warm-ups

5:45 pm- Swimming Timed Finals

TBD - Senior Recognition
8:15pm- Approximate conclusion of the event.

I know this is a lot of logistical changes, and we appreciate your flexibility so much. Our goal with moving this meet is to successfully put on our county meet and give swimmers and divers the final opportunity to compete for the season, while also looking out for everyone's safety.
